System Alert@ir DC® is a device for remote monitoring of the operational status of surge arresters.
A surge arrester has the capacity to conduct a lightning current to earth to protect electrical networks and sensitive equipment. However, a single or several lightning strikes can damage it.
When this case happens and the surge arrester is broken, its fault indicator light goes up. The surge arrester needs to be replaced. Surge arresters must be maintained and checked frequently. Physical checks must therefore be carried out in order to quickly analyze the condition of the surge arrester.
