Description
An Equipotential Spark Gap device is a protective device designed to limit transient overvoltages between neighboring metal masses or circuits. Installed in parallel, it normally remains in an insulating state and only triggers above a threshold voltage. In the event of a lightning strike or surge, it creates a temporary conductor connection, ensuring the equalization of potentials and thus protecting sensitive equipment against destructive discharges.
This type of device complies with the requirements of international standards (IEC 62305, NF C 17-102, etc.) relating to protection against lightning and surges.
