The system Alert@ir DC® is a device for remote monitoring of the operational status of surge arresters.
A surge protector has the capacity to conduct a lightning current to earth to protect electrical networks and sensitive equipment. However, a single or several lightning strikes can damage it.
When this case happens and the surge protector is broken, its fault indicator light goes up. The surge protector needs to be replaced. Surge protectors must be maintained and checked frequently. Physical checks must therefore be carried out in order to quickly analyze the condition of the surge protector.
