The system Alert@ir DC® is a remote monitoring device for the proper functioning of surge protectors.
A surge protector has the ability to conduct a lightning current to the ground to protect electrical networks and sensitive equipment. However, a single lightning strike or several strikes can damage it.
When this happens and the surge protector is faulty, its fault indicator light will illuminate. The surge protector must be replaced. Surge protectors must be maintained and checked frequently. Physical inspections should therefore be carried out to quickly assess the condition of the surge protector.
