Description
The initial verification is carried out after the completion of the installation work on the lightning protection system with device
priming.
Its objective is to ensure that the entire installation is
compliant with current standards, as well as the execution file.
The points checked are as follows:
– the Early Streamer Emission (ESE) Lightning Rod is located at least 2 m above any object located in the protected area;
– the ESE has the characteristics indicated in the execution file;
– the number of downhill drivers;
– the conformity of the components of the Lightning Protection System with early streamer emission device to this document, to the standards of the NF EN 50164 series, NF EN 61643, by marking by declaration or by documentation;
– the routing, location and electrical continuity of the down conductors;
– the fixing of the different components;
– separation distances and/or Equipotential Spark Gap;
– the resistance of the grounding connections;
– the equipotentiality of the SPF earthing connection with that of the building.
In all cases, when a conductor is partially or totally integrated, it is appropriate
that its electrical continuity be verified.
