Bare copper crossover fitting (red)

Mechanically clamping copper crossover fitting for flat and/or round conductors (round up to 70 mm2 – flat 30 mm wide).

This crossover fitting is made of untreated copper (red copper or bare copper). It also comes with stainless steel clamping screws. Finally, the fitting measures 18 x 50 x 50 mm and weighs 0.150 kg.

This product complies with EN 62561-1, IEC 62305 and NFC 17-102:2011 standards, as well as equivalent standards in other countries.

Thus, a crossover fitting is used in grounding and lightning protection (lightning rod) systems. Specifically, it creates overhead connections between conductors carrying lightning current. Its main role is to:

– Connecting Conductors:

The crossover fitting is used to connect lightning rod conductors , whether flat or round, to ensure reliable electrical continuity.

– Improve Security:

By ensuring a good connection between the different components of the grounding system, it contributes to better dissipation of electrical currents, particularly in the event of lightning.

– Corrosion:

Bare copper has good conductivity and corrosion resistance. However, it becomes even more effective when surface-plated with tin to slow down corrosion, which is essential for the durability of outdoor or underground installations.
