Contact@ir + Rout@ir

External protection against lightning using a lightning rod must be checked every year and after each lightning strike to ensure that it is functioning properly. NFC 17-102 – September 2011, (art. 8.2).

Upkeep and maintenance of your lightning protection installation are also necessary to preserve your manufacturer and installer warranties.

To ensure complete security, you must be able to be certain of its effectiveness at all times.

The system Contact@ir® is an exclusive solution offered by LPS France® to meet normative requirements, preserve your guarantees and ensure your safety throughout the lifespan of your lightning protection installation.

Why use Rout@ir® ?

Contact@ir® used with receiver Rout@ir® allows you to check the proper functioning of your product remotely.

If one of your products is struck by lightning, you receive an alert immediately.

The level of intensity of the lightning strike is indicated to you on a scale of 1 to 3. It is thus possible to know the type of verification necessary to carry out. Your products equipped with a transmitter  Contact@ir® communicate constantly by radio waves with your Rout@ir® located nearby.

The data collected by Rout@ir® are continuously transmitted to the server on which they are recorded and dated without intervention on your part.

The multiplicity of networks usable by Rout@ir® for the transmission of this data makes its use possible even in the most isolated places. The data can be viewed remotely from any device connected to the Internet. At any time and from anywhere, you can check the status of all your installations.

What materials are needed?

The Contact@ir transmitter:

Connect to your product Contact@ir® Ready .

Contact@ir®can be placed on the product Contact@ir® Ready during assembly or at any time during the life of the installation. If the transmitter is defective you do not have to change the entire system, you only have to replace the Contact@ir®.

Rout@ir :

Comes in the form of a plastic case. It is powered by the sector or by a photovoltaic cell.

It communicates with the products it manages then transmits the data via the most suitable network.

Rout@ir®  must be installed to receive all communications from products present at a single site to reduce costs. A site with several products = a single receiver. If this is not possible, powerful receiving antennas or signal repeaters are available as options.

What information will I get with Rout@ir® ?

Clear and relevant information

What should I do if I receive a lightning alert?

The system Contact@ir® used with the Rout@ir® transmits a real-time alert when a lightning strike strikes the protection installation.

The NFC 17-102 standard requires a verification of your lightning protection installation each time the protected structure is hit by lightning (art. 8.2). This provision aims to ensure the effectiveness of your protection installation without interruption.

This is why the simple fact of receiving a lightning alert should lead you to check the integrity and proper functioning of your product on our servers.

Rout@ir® also allows you to know the intensity level of the lightning strike captured by your product on a scale of 1 to 3. This feature, like the entire system Contact@ir® , is an exclusive LPS France® .

The intensity of the lightning strike captured by your product and the result of its diagnosis help determine whether a visual, normal or complete verification of the installation is necessary (see standard NFC 17-102, art. 8.2 to 8.6), as well as the degree of urgency of the intervention.

To interpret this data correctly, we recommend that you contact an authorized agent LPS France® who will be able to take the preventive measures essential to maintaining your protection and preserving your guarantees. Thanks to  Rout@ir® , you save time and avoid unnecessary expenses while ensuring the efficiency of your installation through more targeted interventions.

What other requirements Rout@ir® does he respond?

According to the NFC 17-102 standard (art. 8.2) your lightning protection installation must also be checked:

– Periodically in order to be able to anticipate and prevent the natural wear and tear of your installation,
– Each time the protected structure is modified or repaired.

With Rout@ir® logging lightning alerts helps prevent damage linked to wear and tear on the installation and you can carry out a diagnosis quickly wherever you are. If the diagnosis reveals critical information, your installation must be subject to a visual, normal or complete verification depending on the case (see standard NFC 17-102, art. 8.5 and 8.6).

This verification is a necessary condition for preserving your guarantees. By using an Authorized Agent  LPS France® you are sure that the verification procedure is followed and that the appropriate measures are taken.
